Ick!

Never a dull moment in our house, I swear. So yesterday we got to spend a good portion of the later afternoon getting rained on while watching Central Middle School's first home game. Poor kids haven't won a game yet but at least they're trying! And so are the coaches.

After getting home from church with the girls, I got them bathed, read books and tucked them in for a long peaceful night's sleep. That was until at 12:15 am I get jolted awake by Maddie screaming from her bed. Tony and I go running in only to find the child covered in barf. Anyone who knows Tony knows that the poor man absolutely CANNOT stomach vomit so it was amazing that he and Emily still exhisted in the bedroom at this moment. Tony later said that it took everything in him to go into the room so I give him props for entering when all his signals were screaming to run far, far away. He helped me get Maddie bathed yet again so that I could clean up the yuck once I provided a clean escape for Emily off the top bunk. And then no sooner did we get everyone settled back down for sleep than Maddie wakes up in the same situation only this time in the living room. We pretty much were up every hour on the hour with this routine until nearly 7 am this morning. My washer has never had this much action in the middle of the night!

Thankfully I can say now, just over 12 hours later, that Maddie is doing really well. I'm not sure if it had anything to do with us being out in the elements yesterday or what, but she certainly went through the ringer over night.

One funny little tid bit is that through all of this, Maddie kept saying "Someone got me sick!" It was just so cute that she was certain someone did this to her.

Here's hoping to an "ick free" day for everyone. :)

EWWWW! I hope she is feeling better. I am surprised my kids are still somewhat healthy. Hopefully next week it will be nicer weather.
